Stacked Wood

This piece was inspired by the detailed wood grain visible on a cut piece of wood.  I decided to include only the ends of the wood, leaving out all sides and inter-shadowing to give an effect of the each piece of wood almost being stamped onto the paper.

Drawing done with graphite pencils on thick drawing paper

Sprayed with UV protecting varnish.  Although I treat all my work with a UV protecting spray, hanging artwork where it gets direct sunlight for a prolonged time can result in sun damage over time.  Please be aware of this when deciding where to hang your artwork.

This artwork will require framing to be hung on a wall.
